135 Manx Wheel Cross
Isle of Man
This cross design has the circle in the center symbolizing God, the motionless
mover. Although the wheel cross as a whole was originally a symbol for Christ
derived from the Chi-Rho monogram, it came to symbolize heaven. The interlaced
knotwork, so prominent on Celtic crosses, represented the beginning and the end
of the eternal circle.
