Maeltuile Cross
Clonmacnois, Co. Offaly, Ireland
This cross was taken from a fragment of a decorated tombstone in the Clonmacnois
cemetery. From a small inscription on the fragment, it can be dated to the late
9th century. The beautiful spiral patterns form the central feature of this
design.
