It is hard to believe that today's tiny settlement of Forteviot was once the site of the palace of the Pictish kings, a great center of royal and ecclesiastical power from earliest history. Kenneth, son of Alpin, first king of united Scotland also reigned from here for 16 years and King Malcom III built a castle here in the 11th century. This cross design was taken from the ancient Dupplin Cross, a Celtic Picto-Scottish monument that still stands on a hillside just outside the village.
From: Forteviot, Scotland
Due to the hand casting and proprietary staining process, each of my plaques is unique. Each cross comes with a hanger embedded in the stone. The cross comes with a descriptive tag describing the original stone, explanation of the design or information on where the cross is located.
