The Nigg stone, of the 8th century, is part of a triad of stones found along the eastern coast of Ross-shire within a few miles of each other. The Hilton of Cadboll and the Shandwick stones are monuments to three Norse brothers, whose bodies were washed up on the shore after a great storm, trying to rescue their sister from Balnagown Castle. The Nigg stone stood in the churchyard for centuries until it was broken during a hurricane in 1727; it is preserved today in a side room at the Old Nigg Parish Church. The Lions, king of beasts, that are entwined on the cross were used to represent Christ the King.

Due to the hand casting and proprietary staining process, each of my plaques is unique. Each cross comes with a hanger embedded in the stone. The cross comes with a descriptive tag describing the original stone, explanation of the design or information on where the cross is located.
